Marc O. Stöckli
Entrepreneur, investor and board governance expert — author of Make Boards Work.
Marc O. Stöckli has been close to board work since the very start of his career — first as a young investment banker, then as a strategy consultant for world-renowned professional services firms, and later as an entrepreneur, investor and board member.
He is co-founder and former CEO of Totemo, whose cybersecurity products are used by 1,500 corporations and more than 3.5 million licensed users. Totemo was sold to Palo Alto-based Kiteworks in December 2021.
As an investor and board member he has worked with companies including Amwell (NYSE), Beekeeper (acquired by Lumapps), Merantix, Vara, MachtFit, Cryptomathic, CleanHub and Format Vermögen & Anlagen — accumulating more than 200 board meetings across over 30 countries. Along the way he has been co-creator of two unicorns, with multiple exits.
Marc served as Global Chairman of Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO), a peer network of some 20,000 member entrepreneurs across more than 60 countries, and is a certified forum trainer. He has spoken to thousands of entrepreneurs worldwide.
He holds a law degree from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and an MBA from The Wharton School. When he is not working with boards, he climbs — he has summited all 48 of Switzerland's 4,000-meter peaks.
